Chief Data Scientist at LoopMe, a London and Dnipro based start-up. LoopMe is the world’s largest mobile video platform, reaching over 1.25 billion consumers worldwide. Machine Learning is at the core of our ad targeting algorithms. Prior to LoopMe, sixteen years’ experience in two successful London based start-ups, applying online behavioural targeting and real-time decisioning using a variety of offline and online modelling techniques, including: Reinforcement Learning, Random Forests, Logistic Regression in several flavours and recommendation algorithms. Background: BSc, Physics, King’s College London. PhD in Machine Learning.
Topic: Applying Machine Learning in Mobile Device Ad Targeting
Short Description: In the world of ad targeting we deal with tens of thousands of requests per second. In milliseconds we must retrieve everything we know about the user, score them against all the available content that could fill the request, decide whether to respond or not and if so, how much to bid for the chance to display an ad.
The behavioural environment is both complex and changing over time. This makes the problem challenging but extremely exciting. I will outline some of these challenges and also some of our learnings from the last three years.
